Alan Hawkshaw is a composer and performer of music soundtracks for film and Television. Among various accolades, Hawkshaw achieved the Ivor Novello award for Best Film Score for the film : SILENT WITNESS in 1979. In 1993 he was nominated for the Best Drama Score for the series: LOVE HURTS.

Over the years, Alan Hawkshaw has been involved in a string of hits and musical entrées sung by the likes of Tom Jones, Dusty Springfield, Cliff Richard, Olivia Newton-John and others.

In the early 60's Hawkshaw was part of the Rock 'n' Roll group Emile Ford and the Checkmates who recorded several hits. In the 70's, Hawkshaw was a member of The Shadows, while at the same time, he enjoyed working as Olivia Newton-John's Musical Director and arranger/pianist, and keyboard player for Cliff Richard.

Alan Hawkshaw composed the music behind all four series of Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious Universe. The music captures some of the elements we associate with Arthur C. Clarke's works. ; mystery, space, surrealism, etc. The turn of the Millennium sees Hawkshaw involved as CO-publisher of a startling new book "The Venus Legacy", which comes with a magnificent companion music CD composed and performed by ;;; ALAN HAWKSHAW.
