Although Reliant didn't export many Bugs a few have been shipped out since 1970 mainly to Holland. A few have made it across the pond to the States and there are a few more in Australia and New Zealand. One of the services I have done for the Bug Club since its formation is the selling of Hand and Parts Books. This has bought me into contact with lots of enthusiasts around the globe. I received an order last year from New South Wales in Australia. Gail and Michael Truter are the proud owners of the Bug shown above. It may seem hard to believe but the car has only got 68 miles on the clock. Apparently the Bug was bought by an Indonesian man for his son, the son soon grew tired off it and it was then stored in a warehouse in Singapore. The car is regularly driven (down a 200 Meter drive and back) and apart from the canopy support strut is in excellent condition. Burt Shulmans Bug If your a member of the Bug Club you may of heard of Burt Shulman. Burt decided he wanted to purchase a Bug so made the trip across the pond to the 1999 National Micro car rally in Shropshire. Rather then stick it in a container his new toy was flown back to New York where he then proceeded to work on it. The photo below is the Bug after its respray in purple.

Georg Donni Swiss Bug
An increasing number of Bugs are being restored to there former glory. Georg has had his bug stored for 10 years in a garage in Switzerland and has recently started the restoration. As you can see the Bug has Been striped to the Gel coat but looks to me in good condition.
The Sander van wees Bug
The latest edition to this Page is sander van wees Bug. At the moment this is looking in a pretty poor shape with the chassis rusted to such an extent its falling apart. The plan is to put together another chassis using one from a Robin. The photo below shows the job ahead. I must say It looks like a bit of a task but I'm sure he'll do it. Next year I'm hoping to get over for the Holland Microcar rally -Will it be there I wonder?
