"What has this all got to fellwalking?", you might say.  Well, to be honest, the photographs on various websites over the past week have been astonishing.  The snow in Cumbria and elsewhere has left me longing for the mountains and when it snowed today I was rather astonised.  It hasn't snowed in London to this extent for 10 years, with the influence of the urban heat island, but there was  2 inches of snow today.  Certainly the views aren't akin to the hills, but a covering of snow has  left  East Ham and London as a whole somewhat of a winter wonderland.
