Photographs from the Walk:-

Into Mires Beck, Little Cove

Will we need the winter equipment?  Or is it a giant tooth pick?

Panorama south-west from Birkhouse Moor.  Catstycam right with Helvellyn shrouded (Bride of the fells?) and Striding Edge left)

Just east of Low Spying How, Bleaberry Crags

Andrew enjoys the start of Striding Edge proper

A low quality paint job on Dixon's  memorial.

Do you think the anonymous painter was told to only paint the front!!

Boo!

"Look, no ice axe!"

The cornice provides no difficulty this time

"What do you mean Lakeland Cam, and Mad About Mountains?  You forgot to mention my web site."

Andrew ensures summit visitors are put in their place.  These kindly folk knew of the illustrious efforts of Mr. Leaney - quite the celebrity!

Catstycam throws its shadow behind this rime covered rock

There's beauty in even the smallest things as Helvellyn looms behind!

The descent of Swirral - akin to Professor Yaffel from Bagpuss

(Does anyone recognise the analogy or was I the only one watching children's TV in the 1970's?)

The rock steps of Swirral

Ascending Catstycam

Greetings on the summit - two soles without their camera.

Will they look at this page?

Descending Catstycam.  Peter plays in the snow banks whilst Andy makes his escape!

Chick Bonnington. "A fine ice axe by Mountain Technology."

Don't they all?

Snow drops in St. Patrick's church yard.

(a brief stop to pay some respects)

I would just like to thank Andrew for a great day in  good company.

I do hope that in the future many more of us might join in a walk in the fells together.
