Cheng Long offers classes & personal training for everyone to
enjoy the best in martial arts, health & fitness, with
programs for children, women & men of all ages &
abilities. All the best elements of different martial arts are
covered, including kickboxing, karate, kung fu, aikido, general
self-defense. They are combined to create an effective &
practical freestyle martial art. Private lessons are also
available. From day one students are in good hands with
instructors being highly skilled in the arts, as well as in first
aid & injury treatment.

Long is Fun for Children: Children love martial arts. Its a great opportunity for them to let off steam, & they can benefit a great deal from training. Cheng Long has students from the age of 7 upwards. Classes are designed to be fun & easy to follow, & not to over-stress young limbs. Fantastic Fitness for Women: Bored with aerobics or find it hard to motivate yourself in the gym? Get fit & firm, lose inches, & enjoy a new way to keep in shape with kung fu. Kung Fu is fitness with attitude. We will get you in better shape fast. About 50% of our students are women, so dont feel you are entering a man only environment! |

Long For All: Whatever your grade, ability, age or preferred style, Cheng Long has what you need. You will be given techniques relevant to your ability. Beginners receive the attention they need at a pace that is appropriate to their abilities. Senior grades will be given the moves they need to challenge & improve their skills. Martial arts is great cross-training & gives you a good aerobic work-out, combined with intense muscle firming & toning, with the punches & kicks we practice.

Cheng Long kung-fu opens the door to martial arts to the average
man on the street. It can be difficult to get into a martial art
but our school is accessible with a friendly atmosphere where
everyone helps each other to attain their individual goals. The
classes have a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, where you work hard
but have fun .
Martial arts has transformed peoples health & fitness
for more than one thousand years & now Cheng Long brings
those benefits to you. Martial arts improves your shape,
increases reflexes, co-ordination & flexibility, faster &
more effectively than other fitness forms like swimming, jogging
or football, for example. As your training develops, you achieve
more & feel good about yourself. You will be learning a new
skill that hopefully you will wish to improve on & develop.
This, combined with regular gradings, gives you incentive to go
to each lesson, maintaining your fitness & enthusiasm.
We use various techniques such as kicks, strikes, locks, throws,
street self-defense, close combat including ground holds &
defenses. In most techniques we use the attackers power
against themselves, in other words we attack the attack. (minimal
effort is needed) . We also prepare you to be ready for the the
unexpected which will help you avoid problems from the outset.
Fighting should always be a last resort. We learn & teach
only useful, practical techniques that can be used in real
situations. The style is adapted to meet a large range of the
situations. We do not specialise in one specific range of
techniques. We take from all other styles what works & reject
what doesn't.
