SYNOPSIS

The King and Queen plan a big party to celebrate the christening of their baby daughter, the Princess Griselda. The traditional wall-papering scene gets an airing amongst the preparations. Perhaps they should have invited the wicked Hortense because she takes her revenge by cursing the child. Winnie, the good witch can only suggest keeping the child away from needles! Perhaps she should also suggest keeping the butler away from bottles!

Edmund, the King's younger brother, has designs on the throne (they should have bought him a colouring book like the other children!) He betrays them all and allows Hortense to bring a spinning wheel into the palace. His reward is the crown, but everyone else in the palace will sleep forever ...... unless Prince Charming can fight his way through the haunted woods and awaken the princess with a kiss.

The panto has everything, familiar old jokes, traditional slapstick, villains to boo and heroes to cheer. My personal favourites are the two vampire bats who discuss fast food and how things aren't like they used to be!

In the end, Hortense is vanquished, principal boy wins principal girl, and everyone lives happily ever after.
