Troupes d' Intervention Spatial The Troupes d' Intervention Spatial are elite elements of the French Army attached to the MSIF and are the very cutting edge of French intervention capability. Highly trained and lightly equipped, the TIS work with the French Space Navy to prop up French foreign policy anywhere in the human sphere. The TIS are made up of four 'Brigades d' Intervention' all manned by Foreign Legion or Marine Para battalions. A further three special operations force battalions are also present. The 1e BI is stationed on Beta Canum Venaticorum-4, and works with the MSIF 3rd Fleet. It is composed entirely of Foreign Legionnaires and is sometimes wrongly referred to as the 1e REP by Anglophone sources.
2e Brigade d' Intervention The 2e BI is nominally stationed on Tirane but actually spends little time there, co-ordinating instead with the 2nd Fleet. The stable situation in Tirane means that the 2e BI is often the first to be called on to provide troops for contingencies. The I/8e RPIMa has been recently deployed to Aurore for example.
3e Brigade d' Intervention The 3e BI is nominally stationed on Earth and is designated as the primary stand-by brigade for reinforcement of the French Arm in the event of hostilities not confinable by forces already in-situ. In addition it can be called upon to deal with any problems arising in the Sol system, and elements of the force are stationed at Gateway.
4e Brigade d' Intervention The 4e BI is nominally stationed on Earth and is designated as the primary stand-by brigade for operations in the Chinese or American Arms should they become necessary. In addition it can be called upon to deal with any problems arising in the Sol system, and elements of the force are stationed at Crystal Palace.
Groupement de Troupes Spéciale de TIS These battalions are deployed independently and often in small parties, generally the French government refuses to confirm the presence or locations of these units.
