THE US ARMY IN 2300AD BY Version 1.5 January, 2001 (c) Jason R. Weiser Total Manpower:(Including Individual Ready Reserve): 750,423 Manpower Breakdown: 53% Regular Army
Army Chief of Staff = Gen. Joseph Weiss (also head of the JCS currently, his term is up in 2308). Introduction: The US Army has been around ever since there has been an America, beginning in 1776. In 2300, like all other American institutions, it has expanded to the stars, and while, on the average, the Army has more difficulty responding to crises off-world, they are able to better, fight the long campaigns that the Marines are simply incapable of, logistically speaking. Finally, the Army packs more of a mechanized punch than their Marine counterparts. Organization: The Total Army consists of a "two tier" organization, with Light Forces organized into Divisions and Heavy forces into Regiments, as it was decided that it wouldbe easier to transport heavy forces to off-world crises in Regimental size than in divisional. Asfor the National Guard and the Reserves, they have much the same system, but there is a difference now that the USAR has Combat Arms assets, something that the pre-Twilight War USAR did not have. A list of Current posts and units is provided below. A Unit breakdown is also provided below. Regular Army: 56 Heavy Regiments
National Guard: 30 Heavy Regiments
USAR: 14 Heavy Regiments
