Description
References GRIN, Jarret 1987, Mobot Tropicos, Moore 1957 : 181.
Comments Moore 1957 mentions Musa liukiuensis (Matsumoto) Makino but I think he is mistaken.  The abbreviation Matsum. cited at GRIN is Jinzo Matsumara and none of the Matsumotos listed in Brummitt and Powell worked on Spermatophytes.

This, and not Musa basjoo, is the true Japanese Fibre Banana, the ito-basho or thread banana from which the cloth basho was woven.
