The Reindeer Inn
Situated in in the
busy market town of Banbury, this excellent pub is arguably the
best drinking house in the town.
As with all my favorite
pubs, others might disagree, but then that's fine. I understand
it to be the oldest pub in Banbury, but I could be wrong. It certainly
dates back to the English civil war. There is a particular room
tucked away at the back which is known as the globe room, and
was evidently used by Cromwell in those times.
As all in all good
pubs, the quality is derived from the Landlady & Landlord.
Hazel & John. They are a great couple, and really make an
effort to look after you well. The interior of the pub is that
of real wood, and the fireplace is absolutely amazing.
The pub hosts a range
of traditional ales, and also a fine pint of Guinness.
As well as fine ales,
a selection of country wines are available, and some nice Whisky
& Whiskey is available.
The food is excellent,
and very well priced, though I believe cooked food is not available
after 1400hrs on Saturday lunchtimes.
