The sentry eventually - after much (comic?) delay - tells Creon the bad news. Someone has buried the body. The Chorus, responding to certain "miraculous" elements in the sentry's description, tentatively suggest it may have been the work of the gods. Creon is furious! He is convinced that it's the work of "traitors" - either for political motives or for money.
