It was summer 1994 that the residents living in the then six tower blocks of flats were asked if they would like to move into a refurbished tower block.This current refurbishment is in response to that survey.
Sometimes, it is possible to refurbish with residents in situ. However, vacant possession was essential in this case as, apart from any other factor, all the stack pipes needed replacing.
So, with new mains services, windows, doors, balconies, kitchens, bathrooms, individually controlled central heating, a concierge in charge of access to the block, which is going to be covered externally with the necessary insulation, potential residents are keeping a careful watch on the development.
