This pattern is done in 3 rounds: the front motif, the back motif and
the outer round. The stitch
count is based on the sequin size and thread as given below.
You may also need to adjust your stitch count according to the
tension of your tatting. |

Materials:
4 heart-shaped sequins: top to bottom tip = 15 mm,
left to right = 16.5mm at the maximum, and with a hole at the top tip
and another hole at the bottom tip.
2 shuttles
Size 20 thread
Small crochet hook that can go through the holes of the sequins |

Front Motif:
With shuttle and ball thread, CTM
[ Ring:
10 – 10
Chain:
2 – 2 ]
x 3 times
Ring:
10 – 10
Chain:
2, join to all the previous 3 picots, 2
Tie to base of 1st ring.
Leave thread ends long if you intend to make a bookmark with a long
tassel.
Bring both the thread ends to the picot of 1 of the chains. |

Back Motif:
With 2 shuttles, CTM
[ Ring:
10 – 10
Using two shuttles.
Chain:
2 – 2 ]
x 4 times
Tie to base of 1st ring.
Leave thread ends long if you intend to make a bookmark with a long
tassel.
Bring 1 of the thread ends to the picot of 1 of the chains. Leave the
other thread end (A) as it is for sewing down the sequins later. |

Outer Round:
With shuttle and ball thread, CTM
Join to back motif at the picot with the thread end coming out of it.
[ Chain: 23
With crochet hook, go through picot of ring of front motif, top hole of
sequin and picot of ring of back motif.
Pull shuttle thread through all 3 and shuttle join.
Continue with chain
Chain:
23
Join to next picot on chain of back motif. ]
x 4 times
The last chain is joined back to the same picot as the 1st
chain.
Leave thread ends long if you intend to make a bookmark with a long
