Techniques & Suggestions

To start the first ring without a knot

Please note you do not need to tie the second shuttle to the first.

Joining to the button from a ring.

Place button on top of core thread

Pull loop up through hole using core thread.

Take shuttle through loop

Tighten carefully so button sits on top of work and ring thread still slides.

To start the first split ring without a knot

Before closing the first ring put the end of the second shuttle through the ring.

Close whilst 'pinching' the end.  On the second half of the SR you will tat over this tail.

Adding beads before forming a picot on 2nd half SR

When reaching the place where the beads are to be added take the second shuttle thread and add beads to it BEFORE the next half of the ds.

Take the second shuttle thread and add stated number of beads.

Place a safety pin (or paper clip) to secure them in place.
