Making a Ring on a Split Ring © Jane Eborall 2008

This page is here to explain how to make a ring on the second side of a split ring.  The page on how to make a split ring is here.

Work side one of the split ring as instructed and side 2 up to

the place where the ring is needed.

Take work off the hand and

turn upside down.

Using shuttle two which has been making the second half of the SR - follow the instructions in the pattern to make the ring.

Turn the work again so that Sh1 is

back at the top.  Check that the core thread still slides.

Complete the second side of the SR and use Sh1 to close the SR.

Please note that after a little practice the ring on the second side of the split ring can be achieved without taking the work off the hand and turning it over.  The worker just needs to manipulate the position of the second side of the SR.
