The Centre is situated in Wavertree, South Liverpool at 3 and 5 Langdale Road, Liverpool L15 3LA.

No 3 Langdale was kindly donated by Dr Ernest Miller, one of the Liverpool Bahá’ís of the 1950’s and was formerly the surgery he practised from as a GP. Later No 5 was purchased and the two buildings are now the Bahá’í Centre of today.

This Centre is a focus for a wide range of Bahá’í activities around Merseyside, attracting attendance from the Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton and St Helens communities. It also plays host to regular charitable events – which have included fund raising events in aid of the Liverpool School for the Blind, Mozambique, Honduras and Ethiopia. The Centre is also often used as one of the venues for the Liverpool Interfaith group consisting of a number of local religious and faith communities.

About the Liverpool Bahá’ís:

The election of the first Local Spiritual Assembly of Liverpool took place at 19 Canning Street, Liverpool 8, on the evening of April 14th 1950.

The first elected assembly members were: Mrs Alma Gregory, Mr John Hargreaves, Mr Hassan Sabri, Miss Margaret Shanks, Miss Una Townsend, Mrs Mary Beeby, Miss Stella Farnsworth, Mr Thomas Parry, Mr Charles Farrington.

The following is quoted from their first minutes: "With this feeling, and enraptured in this atmosphere of gratitude for the gift of life, the Assembly was moved to… hope that it may be able to render, in a measure, gratitude for that which has been given to it during the period of its conception."

About Abdu’l-Bahá:

Abdu’l-Bahá who was the third of the great Central Figures of the Bahá’í Faith, made an historic visit to Liverpool between the 13th and 15th of December 1912. While he was here, his itinerary included a series of memorable talks to capacity audiences, two of which are included below: The Search for Truth and The Spirit of Love and Unity.
