of the first Local Spiritual Assembly of Liverpool took place at The first elected
assembly members were: Mrs Alma Gregory, Mr John Hargreaves,
Mr Hassan Sabri, Miss
Margaret Shanks, Miss Una Townsend, Mrs Mary Beeby, Miss Stella Farnsworth, Mr Thomas Parry, Mr Charles Farrington. The following
is quoted from their first minutes: "With this feeling, and enraptured
in this atmosphere of gratitude for the gift of life, the Assembly was moved
to… hope that it may be able to render, in a measure, gratitude for that
