E-MAIL ADDRESS CHANGE – In spite of conflicting reports, we are trying AOL as it does provide benefits.  N.B. New E.Mail address overleaf.  New website annunciationbournemouth.org.uk  ready in a few weeks
time.

PLEASE PRAY FOR. . . . . . . Paul Reeks who died tragically  and recently from a drugs overdose.  At one point he had his name changed by Deed Poll to Herod White Lightning!  His funeral will be at St Edmund Campion Church at 10.00am tomorrow, Monday 19th

PRISONER’S WEEK THIS WEEK - There are 65,000 people in our prisons.  At any one time more than 100,000 children suffer the consequences of having a parent in prison.  They all need your prayers and support.  Jesus does not ask us to judge, but to show love.  We can all respond to this call in some way.  Please keep prisoners in your thoughts and prayers.

MOVING BAPTISMAL FONTS!- Did you know that the large stone font near the sanctuary at St Edmund Campion church really belongs to the Annunciation, and that the small wooden font at the back of Annunciation church really belongs to St Edmund Campion (and the person who gave it still attends Mass there and still regrets the loss of it)?  When you think about it, they do look out of place.  The style of them suits the church for which they were intended rather than the one in which they now are.  I would like to return them to their original homes, and the Parish Pastoral Councils are in full agreement.  They were swapped over when there was a brief trend to put the font in or near the sanctuary, and the stone one would not fit at Annunciation.  The traditional liturgical view is now back in favour – quite rightly – and the font should be near the church door, because baptism concerns entry into the Church.  Please let me know by the end of the month whether you have any strong view about this.  Thank you.  Fr Tony.

CATHOLIC CHILDREN’S SOCIETY – ADOPTION – We are currently recruiting prospective adopters for children aged between 3 and 8 years and would be pleased to respond to enquiries from anyone interested in adopting one or more children.  Please contact Wendy Inman or Di Emery – Tel  01962 842024

Annunciation Church Heating – Thank God that this was switched on just in time for the main Mission events – and it is working beautifully.  The church has never been so warm and cosy.  I expect attendance figures to rise dramatically!!  Thanks to the engineers from Hinchcliffe’s for their hard work  and expertise.  And a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have contributed to the FRIENDS OF ANNUNCIATION.  Your generosity has raised just enough to meet the £28,000 approx. that the scheme will cost.  I hope to write a special letter to all our benefactors; a mass will be celebrated for you all at 11.00 am on Sun 30th December.  The Friends account is now almost empty, so we will have to start raising funds again for improved lighting and redecoration.  If you’d like to help or have any idea, please let me know.
