Popular in the 18th and 19th centuries, it was often used to decorate furniture but these days is used mainly on smaller articles.<BR> <BR> </FONT><TABLE ALIGN="CENTER" WIDTH="100%"> <TR> <TD ALIGN="CENTER"> <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="black"> <BR> <B>Designs..</B><BR> Are mainly inspired by traditional celtic art, eg. the Book of Kells, and by the landscape, flora and fauna of the beautiful countryside in which I live. The majority of my articles are made from native wood by a craftsman in Mid-Wales. Pictures on random wood pieces are from local managed woodland. <BR> </FONT></TD> </TR> </TABLE> <BR> <BR> <B>Maintenance..</B><BR> Non-coloured articles are sealed with finishing oil and then wax polished. Coloured items are sealed with a matt varnish before wax polishing, to protect the colour. Both can be kept in good order by occasional re-polishing with a clear wax. Coasters and Fly Boxes are finished with a heat and water resistant lacquer and can be cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth. Any articles intended to be in contact with food, bread/chopping boards etc., are treated with Tung Oil, a pure, food-safe oil.
