Christopher was born in Hong Kong, the third child and second son of Ronald. He was ordained priest in 1961, and was in turn Vicar of St Matthew's Smethwick, Canon of Manchester Cathedral, Vicar of Bolton, and Co-ordinator of Christian Concern for One World. When he retired, he became Canon Emeritus of Christ Church, Oxford.
He married Viviane Schaefer in 1960 and they have three children. This photo was taken soon after his 70th birthday :

On 29 October 2005, a Family Reunion was held in Deddington parish church, Oxfordshire to mark his 70th year.
