Welsh Clubs in Europe

Abergavenny players Mark Adams and Andy Borg, recently took part in the European Club Championships. Both players, playing for Cardiff, were in Group 2 of this years competition, in Reykjavik, Iceland (24-26/9/99). Expecting to score 'nil point', the team did very well to finish 6/8 and were actually on a plus score after two rounds. . The Russian team (Siberia, Tomsk) took first place in group 2 of the European Chess Cup 1999 and will participate in the finals.
