Haymeadow

Here you will find one or two labourers at work making hay. Hay is very important as a winter feed for cattle, sheep and horses. The grass is cut using a scythe, allowed to dry in the sun, and then raked into heaps. It is either moved to a hayloft using a sledge, or made into a haystack that is roofed with thatch.
