You continue to gaze around the room, resisting the temptation to open the book, but your glance is always brought back there. You wrench your eyes away and take down a book at random from the shelves. It is bound in blue leather, and its title is 'Journal of Silanthius-vol. 10'. You open it, and the first page is written on. It reads: 'Hid Book in study, with other books; hide journals there too. Must hide Book well; She will send Them after me. The Book is precious to Her. I look at Book much. She will not let me have Book.' A few lines are blank, and then a hasty scrawl is written: 'They come! They come! I am lost!' After this the book is empty.
You look once more to the book on the table; surely this is the Book the journal spoke of. But who is She? Who are Them? What happened to the author of the journal?
Unable to resist, you open the book.
