The soul of a serial killer (Charles Lee Ray) is transferred to a toy doll. To get back into human form he must take the soul of a young child. Good special effects and some innovative killings.

This film was followed by two sequals in 1990 and 1991. Due to the poor box office performance of Child's Play 3, this series seems to have come to an end.
