MGM/UA passed on making a sequel, so Universal got the rights. Little Alex Winter returns, trying in vain to warn people in Chicago about Chucky, the killer doll. Gerrit Graham and Jenny Agutter, as his foster parents, and Grace Zabriske all show up, just to be killed off.

Busy Brad Dourifs voice is used for Chucky's wisecracks again. Scenes of the doll doing horribie things are either scary or pretty hilarious, depending on the mood of the viewer. The best part is a suspenseful end sequence set in an automated factory turning out more Chuckies.
