The Stations of the Cross

As for The Angels and The Rosary, picture plaques were made for ‘THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS’. To begin with the fourteen station pictures hang on a board which gives the prayers and explanations for this devotion. During the course of the devotion each station is learnt and expounded upon. After each station has been taught the children are allowed to take said station and fit it onto the second board in the appropriate position on what is called ‘The Journey Board’. This is like a giant jigsaw puzzle where each of the stations depicting the route Jesus took to Calvary blends in to the painted scene when hung on their respective pegs. As well as learning the devotion the children love being able to touch and move and get involved with the boards.
