In the meantime I have successfully self-published Refrigerated Transportation, a second edition of which was recently re-published by the long-established publishers Witherby & Sons. My history of military transport, Arteries of War, was published by Airlife Publishing Ltd in 1992, the same year that I self-published the first edition of An ABC of NLP and founded the Authors Self-Publishing Enterprise with the acronym ASPEN. My writing career was put on temporary hold when a Finnish shipping line persuaded me to establish a UK organisation for them based in north-east England. The one-year I offered them became five years before I was allowed to take another retirement. I remain a non-executive director of the shipping line.
Now I am once more devoting the major part of my time to writing, editing, and to promoting ASPEN. Peace of Mind is a Piece of Cake, written in collaboration with Michael Mallows, was published by Crown House Publishing in December 1998. In the pipeline are other books planned with Michael Mallows: You May be a Group but are you a Team?, You're Not Lucky, You Deserve It, Ifs and Buts and Not Choosing is Also a Choice.
My novel The Torturous Scheme will be published in Spring 2001 and more information about this work will be placed on this website shortly. A second novel, Kick Me, is still being written.
I have been a member of the Institute for Transactional Analysis, the International Co-Counselling Community, the Association of Humanistic Psychology and the Association for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. I am currently a member of the Dorset Association of Complementary Practitioners and the Independent Practitioners' Network, both of whose newsletters I edit. Additionally I edit and produce New Learning, a quarterly journal published by the NLP-Education Network.
