MONEY OR YOUR LIFE. Chapter Eleven.
MONEY MARKETS. SNAG NUMBER THREE
We have covered this snag in previous chapters. However this snag is so well used by so many people in power that it will be the major stumbling block to monetary reform.
The reason our nation tolerates an unethical monetary system which destroys democracy, puts ultimate power into the hands of criminals and makes the so called science of economics unworkable, lies in the fact that so many people at the top of our social order profit from the system.
For example, some thirty Members of Parliament are bankers or have important banking interests. You cannot expect politicians who derive financial benefit from the existing monetary system to attack the system and demand reform. The demand for an ethical monetary system will come from the grass roots not from the people at the top.
Most of the super rich in our society have made their money out of money. Making a fortune by wheeling and dealing in money is regarded as a highly respectable method of getting rich.
One could almost say that the upper strata of society is held there because "money is not really money" and its value is therefore a gamble. But this is no ordinary lottery.
The players in the game have inside information which can guarantee that they win and the rest of us lose. The system is such that if you have just enough information from source; you can gamble and win every time.
How could you persuade the beneficiaries of such a system to read this book, to appreciate the harm done to mankind by playing that game, and then get them to help put things right?
Obviously an exceedingly difficult task but there is a carrot which might make it possible. Read chapter 16.
The important thing to remember is that we want reform by persuasion with hard logic.
We do not want a revolution. We wish no harm to those in power behind the scenes, we only wish to help them to become more honest.
