Aware of the trouble and unrest that can be caused by the telling of legends  and fables about a warrior Queen,   Rome orders the Provincial Governor to investigate the strange noises coming from the Bit village

From past experience the Governor knows it will be very difficult to get  anyone within sniffing distance of the Bit village let alone unseen,  so he  sends for 'Deletious the Assassin' ( part time spy and private dick) He reasons that with a  mission that is bound to fail then someone else can take the blame.

A discrete and secretive character Deletious specialises in both domestic (divorce a speciality)  and Industrial espionage.  Apart from a  large wart on his nose very few people have seen his face and he considers himself to be the master of disguise (well apart from the wart of course)

His orders are to infiltrate the village to determine what is making the hideous noise and the degree of threat it imposes to the empire.

Next Time on 'Roms and Bits' - Will Deletious get close or will he succumb to the smell from Whiff's feet? Will Sir Jeremy continue to evade his creditors and what will the villagers do about their Queens awful singing. Hardly gripping stuff I agree but we have got hold of a taped conversation between two of the Hardup Hall cleaners and in the best tradition of the current TV documentaries we hope to bring you edited highlights next time round!
