The Bow Arts Trust is a foundation for all visual artists; one that they may use in the secure knowledge of its longevity, integrity and commitment to their artistic aspirations. The mission of Bow Arts is: · to advocate the positive promotion of the visual arts to all people from all sectors of society. · to alleviate the poverty of artists by providing secure, affordable studio space for the production of art. · to operate as a two way street, positively engaging artists in its development as a vehicle for new ideas and practice, whilst the trust affords the artists the security, time and focus for the development of such objectives. · to support artists in developing a holistic view of their professional artistic practice with the specific intention of securing a richer foundation for their future development. · to raise the professional, public face of artists in their collaborations with other professional bodies, organisations and the general public, through a series of relevant training opportunities. Bow Arts Trust aims to serve the community: · by establishing a gallery that will provide a public forum for a broad base of arts activities as well as bringing contemporary visual arts to new and established audiences. · through a commitment to excellence, by raising the national and international reputation of the gallery, facilitating opportunities for collaboration and exchange with other galleries and institutions at home and abroad. · by running an education facility that promotes an understanding of all levels of arts practice through actual involvement in artist-led, hands-on workshops, seminars, professional training and events. These are conducted both on-site and in other venues and educational establishments. The way in which the trust will able to do this is by creating a forum for artists' vision for the future of the trust through: · creating a broad base of support and involvement for its membership to develop professional training and experience in all aspects of the activities of Bow Arts. · the provision of the training of our specific and changing artist membership in all professional spheres of visual and combined art practice. · contact with communities local, national and international. · supplying long term security for artists to pursue their individual artistic practice. · encouraging the artists to be pro-active in developing links with their audience local, national and international. Bow Arts Trust intends to secure its premises on a permanent basis both for the benefit of its artist population and the local community.
