In 1964 Blacks Equipment were the first Western
European company to
produce a commercial Friction Welding machine and we have refined and developed
our machine designs ever since.
With an extremely wide variety of applications now possible for Friction
Welding, Blacks have taken a fresh look at industry's requirements and now
offer a range of machines of modular construction from which can be chosen:
A. Size of machine, i.e. drive power and axial force to suit your needs.
B. Specialized component clamping systems to meet your specific requirements.
C. Degree of sophistication required, i.e. weld monitoring, flash turning/shearing,
automatic handling, etc. can be supplied if required.
The machines normally employ a fixed clamping station for mounting the non-rotating
component and a sliding head for carrying the rotating component, but this
arrangement can be reversed where appropriate.
NOTE: That the most important feature of this range of machines is that the
appropriate type of drivehead can be mated with the clamping station most
appropriate to your application. The range is designed to cover weld face
diameters from 3mm diameter up to 65mm diameter or tube up to 20Omm o/d.
