Fewer esoteric practices/beliefs come in for as much ridicule as Astrology. People look at their 'horoscope' in the daily paper, and say "but this is so vague...", or, "there are millions of people with my birth sign, how can it possibly apply to all..."and these are valid comments! Really one answers the other, the vagueness is due to the fact that it can apply to so many. We all have three signs in our makeup, a 'Sun' sign, which is what is published in the newspaper, a 'Moon sign' and 'Rising sign.' Added to these there are other factors depending on our actual time of birth. The daily horoscope is really only a rough guide, and not the in depth analysis you could get from a good professional astrologer.
But what about those that say it is all 'mumbo jumbo' or rubbish. Well it is worth considering these facts. Take the planet Jupiter for example. It is the largest planet (the sun is a star) in our solar system. As a result it has an enormous gravitational pull. It would take at least three years to get there, and on arival, you would be squashed instantly, due to the gravity! The sun is many times bigger and also exerting a gravitational influence on our solar system. The gravity of the moon causes tides on earth to ebb and flow, this is a known affect. But is living matter affected? Ok, appart from the gravity of the earth holding us down! Well birds use the gravitational fields of the earth to navigate their way around the world every year. The moon has been known in scientific circles to have an effect on our state of mind and emotional well being. Since victorian times, hence the term 'lunatic' from ''Luna' to describe someone disturbed.
People are affect by electrical fields, and in the light of the above, when previously we doubted there was any real influence, one starts to think the real lunacy is to believe the planets have no influence at all!
Look out for Taurus next month!
