Moving a little further afield, but remaining in Lancashire and Greater Manchester, the following titles cover areas just on our doorstep. Some of these will include footage taken in Preston.

The DVDs are mostly shot from the cab, but they also include footage taken from a trailing guards van, and around the various yards visited. Many of the workings locations and lines are now either gone entirely, or unrecognisable today.
Many of this series of 10 DVDs include footage of Preston.
Highlights for the Preston enthusiast include a trip up the former Longridge Branch to the Deepdale Coal Depot, via Miley Tunnel.

North West Lancs Class 101-116 DMU DVD Anbrico/FelixJaz

Filmed mainly in the 80s and 90s, this excellent DVD features all those DMUs you always ignored, but would love to see again!
Includes a ride on a class 104 from Hebden Bridge to Preston

Roaming the North West Rails -

Features a full programme between Lancaster and Grayrigg Bank with plenty of traction variety and many unusual workings. Filmed between: 9 February 2001 and 30 June 2001 before major changes to traction and rolling stock was introduced. Loco classes featured: 20, 31, 37, 47, 56, 60, 86, 87, 90 and 92.

     
HEST BANK DELIGHTS!  -  Where Rail Meets Sea Peter Cooper This 2 DVD set lasts just over two hours with excellent film quality and stereo sound. It features nine different locations at Hest Bank, and includes a wide selection of 87s, 90s and 86s hauling inter-city expresses, 86s and HSTs on XCs, plenty of freights (mgrs, freightliners, log train, acid tanks, china clay, engineers etc) and postal services with 20s on flasks and acid tanks and many railtours. A variety of track machines can also be seen.
Steam Up North - Vol 1 Peter Cooper Featuring sixteen different steam locomotives and over 45 sequences, with steam seen at work at 28 different locations.
Includes some Preston footage.
Steam Up North - Vol 2 Peter Cooper Featuring thirteen different steam locomotives and over 45 sequences, with steam seen at work at 23 different locations.
Roaming the Settle & Carlisle Peter Cooper Plenty of variety with continuous action and magnificent views on the famous line. Loco classes featured: 20, 37, HSTs, 47, 50, 57, 60, 66, with 87 and 90 being dragged.
Along LMS Lines Volume 5 Wigan - Preston - Carnforth B&R Video Productions The fifth volume in the series ALONG LMS LINES, takes the story further north along the West Coast main line and covers WIGAN to Preston, Lancaster and Carnforth.
There are diversions to look at the East Lancashire line from Preston Farington to ROSE GROVE, BLACKPOOL North on the Fylde, and Morecambe.
Filmed in colour from 1965 to 1968 it is mainly about the end of steam in the North West of England and so Stanier and Standard locomotives predominate with Jubilees, Black 5s, 8Fs, 2-6-4 Tanks and Britannias.
