An Experienced Freelance Bassoonist since 1969 with all of London’s Symphony and Chamber Orchestras.

Formerly Principal Bassoon of Scottish Ballet,1971-73 and Kent Opera, 1972-’74

Founder Member of the Orchestra of St.John’s Smith Square,1968-’98.

English Sinfonia 1975—present.

Extensive Symphonic, Chamber and Commercial recording experience.

Current Projects

Recent recordings with the Ambache Chamber Ensemble (including Concerts in their "Only Connect" Series).

Concertos in July 1999(Mozart) and Spring 2000(Panufnik) along with several Educational projects with the Ambache Chamber Ensemble and  English Sinfonia.

An accomplished Speaker and Presentation Skills Trainer.

As a long-standing member of Toastmasters International and former President of the London Athenians Speakers Club, has  been responsible for the development and presentation of numerous workshops covering all aspects of public speaking.

Extensive experience as Organiser, Chairman and Judge of Toastmasters' speech contests. 

In his specialist area of Musical Interpretation, has been giving Master-Classes and one-to-one Tutorials over a period of nearly 30 years..

Has become a Founder Member of the recently-formed Professional Speakers Association which is the UK affiliate of the US-based National Speakers Association.

In June 1999, completes a one-year 'voluntary' appointment as a Toastmasters' Area Governor.
