‘Remembrance Sunday’ 2004

14th, November

11 am at the summit of Great Gable.

A misty ascent of Great Gable was made on Remembrance Day by a dozen members of the OFC. Although the weather was damp and grey the spirit of those on the ascent was not to be dashed. Members ascended from Seathwaite, Honister and Wasdale Head. Meeting on the summit members of the Club gathered with the many hundreds on the summit for the short message announced by the President of the Fell and Rock Climbing Club, before the 2 minutes silence. Afterwards, people gathered with the Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team for a photograph opportunity after our money raising efforts with the last copy of The Lost Sheep.
