New members welcome!
CHG has around 100 members and new members are welcome, initially as visitors if they
wish. The annual subscription is currently £3.00 and a membership card/annual programme
issued. Administration is carried out by a small committee including Chairman, Secretary
and Treasurer, who are elected annually.

Regular Programme of Events
Meetings are generally held on the second Friday of every month at Redstart School at
7.30pm, when a local specialist is usually invited to speak. Between May and August, on-site
visits are arranged to local places of interest. Everyone is expected to contribute £1 to cover
the evening's expenses (such as entrance fees, room hire, speaker costs, refreshments and
administration).

Additional Member benefits:
Associate membership
of the Somerset Archaeological and Natural History Society which enables members to have
access to their Member's Reference Library at Taunton, and also to take part in the SANHS
and Associated Societies' events. Membership publications of the Council for British
Archaeology (SW), Somerset Industrial Archaeological Society and Somerset Records Society.
