George Caird
(1801-).
At
the end of C18 the Cairds were living in and near Carnoustie, Scotland.
Many of the family were linen (later jute) weavers but some were in
other manual occupations such as fishing and baking. I have some
information about George Caird’s and Agnes Strachan’s ancestors. George
Caird (1801-) was the son of George Caird (1771-) and his wife Margaret
Hog (1769-). George Caird (1771-) was the son of David Caird and Jean
Williamson. I have been unable to identify either of these from
christening records and would welcome information about them.
