Blur are currently in talks to get William Orbit in to produce some tracks on their next album, their sixth studio album, which they start recording after the World Cup in July. Also, the Dust Brothers are rumoured to be producing songs on it. What's happened to Stephen Street? That's what I want to know. Has the 'Fifth Blur Member' called it a day? Also, the band are set to finish their Glastonbury set with a version of Fat Les song Vindaloo, although we're not quite sure how it will sound with Graham's infamous power chords thrown across it...

OK the fight for number one... Well, Vindaloo is hotly tipped to smash the number one spot into little pieces, but what about the re-released Three Lions? Well, sod the charts, because the real war should have been something like Spiritualized's new EP up against Embrace's. If more people bothered to listen to Spiritualized, they would probably become the biggest band in Britain cos they're so difficult to fault. But out of all the people I know how many people have heard them (Barring people off IRC)? 2. And one of them is me. Hmmmm. This completely irrelevant news was shoved onto the WWW by BlurNM.

The Phoenix Festival has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales. For information about how this is the latest scrapping in a continuing trend of festival scuppering, read this week's NME, dated 14th June.
