CERTIFICATION FOR EXPORT TO RUSSIA
It is normal for products exported for sale in Russia and CIS to need certificates assuring conformity with Russian standards. The most common certificate that is required at the customs border, and for advertising and selling in Russia is the GOST R Certificate of Conformity (CoC). This confirms that your products comply with the applicable Russian standards for product safety. This is a legal requirement of the Russian Federation.
GOST R Certificates of Conformity (CoC) are issued with the authority of the Russian State Committee for Standardisation, Certification and Metrology, known as Gosstandart. However, many products exported to Russia and CIS require additional supporting certification from other organisations before the GOST certificates can be issued. Other certificates (permits) needed to support the CoC include:
Gosgortechnadzor (GGTN) - for industrial equipment used in oil and gas, petrochemical and mining industries
Sanepidemnadzor (SAN) - for products such as food, cosmetics, toys, clothing, textiles, furniture and some industrial/mechanical equipment
Ministry of Health - for medical equipment, medical devices including diagnostic products and drugs
Ministry of Internal Affairs - fire safety certification of certain products
Ministry of Communications - for telecommunication equipment
Ministry of Environment - for large signs or external shop fittings and ozone friendliness certification
