EXPANDED PERLITE PARTICLE

Product description

Perlite(also called Pearlstone) is a water-containing volcanic rock of an acidic composition.
At an abrupt heating to temperatures of 1000 to 1200C, perlite sand swells to many times its initial volume,
producing a highly porous friable material with a fine cellular structure, chemically inert, biologically stable,
heat- resistant, non toxic, odourless, water-insoluble, mould-repellent, offering exceptional insulating and filtering properties.

Applications of expanded Perlite:

Physical properties of primary Perlite rock:

Specific gravity, g/cm3 2.3
Organic admixtures virtually absent
Compressive strength, kg/cm2 180 to 700
Water absorption, in % 3 to 10
Porosity, in % 8 to 36

Chemical properties:

pH (10% suspension) 7.2 to 7.8

Composition, in %:
SiO2 72.60 to 74.84
Al2O3 13.37 to 13.64
Fe2O3 0.54 to 0.97
CaO 0.45 to 0.97
MgO 0.20 to 0.26
Na2O 3.77 to 3.95
K2O 3.95 to 4.19
TiO2 0.02 to 0.05
Loss on ignition 2.00 to 5.00

In international trade, in view of distances involved, it may be appropriate to supply primary (crude) Perlite rock, for further processing at destination.
However, the supplier can also offer Expanded Perlite Sand.
As well as more specifically Perlite Filtering Powder, graded and packed to Customers' requirements.
Specifications of these products are available on request.

Shipments via Russian ports on the Black Sea ( Novorossiysk) or some ports on the Azov Sea
