Here we have the players getting their pre-match team talk from the experienced man...Dave Busby. Armed with his notebook and pencil, Dave has sussed out the opposition simply by watching them warm up, and is offering the players some advice on how to break down defences and score great goals. Unfortunately, after this talk the lads proceeded to draw 0-0 and then lose 1-0!!!! From left to right, the players are: Morgan, Raj, Dave and Joseph. If you look closely at Morgan's chest, you can just about see Mark's elbow jutting out as the camera shy newcomer cunningly avoids getting in the shot by hiding behind our star penalty taker.
This picture shows the importance of Carl getting to read the latest edition of Penthouse before a game. Raj tries to hide his embarrassment behind a nervous cough, but Carl is too engrossed to notice the camera aimed right at him. Something worked though, he was our star striker in the tournament!!! Also in the picture is Don, wearing his Brazil away kit and clasping the ball like a trophy. Don is obviously aware that if you leave Raj alone with a football he will only embarrass himself, and therefore is removing the temptation!
The fact that everyone is laughing in this shot means that they definitely HADN'T just heard Ben's "Chicken and the Egg" joke. Joseph has joined the fun here, and he and Don watch with amusement as Raj and Carl discuss Chelsea's championship chances for the coming season (well, what else could make them laugh this much?!).
Now what exactly is Joseph looking for here? He has that "caught in the act" look about him which suggests he may well know more about that last piece of chicken which mysteriously went missing than he is letting on. I'm sorry, I have to reveal the truth here. Despite our desperate attempts to avoid comercialism and selling out the pride of the team, we finally agreed to allow Asda to advertise in our pictures for the princely sum of 2 cases of Nurishment, a fire-damaged wok, and a Spice Girls mouse mat for Raj. Remember everyone, "that's Asda price! chink chink!"
