There are so many pictures from this years tournament that I can only give u a few at a time! I dont want to overwhelm you! Here are some magic moments from the year when we came so close... yet just missed out on glory!
This picture shows that you can put the brightest of Britain's University students into almost any situation and they will succeed, but get them to try and work out how to put on bibs and the result is chronic embarrassment! Walking towards the camera with 2 bibs (the greedy devil!) is Carl, and he is watched by Ninos (whose head and shoulders can be seen in the bottom lefthand corner or the pic). Of the trio of SD players in the middle of the pitch, I am to the left (wearing my infamous knee support), Morgan is in the centre with his back to the camera, and Joseph is on the right wearing bright blue socks.
Ladies calm yourselves! Here you get to see the stars of SD in various states of undress!! Carl is on the floor feeling the effects of one toe-punt too many, Joseph is demonstrating how to remove a bra, Kenny is drinking lemonade spiked with Vodka, and the rest of us are looking on in bewilderment! From left to right, we are... Joseph, Me, Carl, Kenny, Ninos and Cameron.
This great action shot was taken by me as I watched the second half from the sidelines. I had a vision that Carl would score a cracker right about now, and I caught him just as he let rip! Morgan and Joseph are supporting, but the opposition have all but given up as the ball flies towards the far corner of the goal.Their cause was certainly not helped by the fact that their goalkeeper appears to have been in the process of taking a dump in his goalmouth!
Carl has taken a lot of stick about the unsightly growth on his chin... and here he decides to display it in all its glory! Carl's beard however, is overshadowed by the fact that someone has obviously begun a game of "noughts and crosses" on Joseph's football boot! Also worth noticing in this picture is Ninos deep in prayer, and a bottle of insecticide that has so far failed to remove the growth on Carl's chin!
This team shot shows us after we received our runners-up medals and trophy. Kenny, as a tribute to the referees in the comp, has dressed all in black, while Cameron upsets our team sponsors by wearing a Scum jersey! As a result of this picture, JVC made record losses and ended their sponsorship with Arse-nal.
The question on everyone's mind is... What is Joseph thinking? Possible answers are... 1. He just remembered he has a piece of cake in the fridge at home... 2. He caught a glimpse of his reflection on his medal and has fallen in love... or 3. The truth is out! Due to lack of funding the tournament organisers couldnt afford Gold medals, so they have given us chocolate ones instead!! Elsewhere, Ninos demonstrates the advantage of a cool head under pressure, Cameron does a good impression of a cardboard cut-out, and Kenny looks ready to pounce!
