Here we go people, the long-awaited snapshots of the team of the millennium!!
This is the Supreme Deluxe squad of 2000! Currently this is the only picture known to exist of this mythical band of warriors, and its not hard to see why they are feared throughout the land (well, alright, throughout North Acton Playing Fields at least!).
At the left of the group, looking remarkably calm and collected considering he is late for a trip to the Millennium Dome (RIP) which had free admission on the day in question, is Sandeep. Next along is Mark, whose camera awareness ensured his best side was put forward, and the world is able to admire his ear stud (in the present day also being sported by Carl and lifelong SD fan Don).
The year would not be complete without the mandatory nude picture, and Carl duly obliges with his semi-naked showing. Claims that he grates cheese on his stomach are unfounded, but unsurprising. Beside Carl is the club captain Joseph who, true to form, has placed himself in the centre of the picture. Keen-eyed SD viewers will also notice that one of his prized Sondico shinguards has gone AWOL from this snapshot too. We await the ransom note...
Lowering the tone of the picture we have Cammo, wearing a poor quality soccer shirt from an unspeakable part of North London. Also nice to see are his multi coloured mittens that are attached to the sleeves of his shirt... now come on, admit it, you had a pair too when you were little!!
At the far right of the shot we have Kenny. Young supersub himself. Quiet and composed, Ken has succeeded in mastering that Andy "I'll score the next one" Cole stance for his photo. Luckily for us, Kenny's finishing ability is slightly more reliable than old mr. one-in-five himself.
In summary, enjoy your last look at the SD Umbro kit, because this was the last tournament it was used in before half the shirts went missing. As this picture proves, someone started early by stealing Carl's shirt off his back!! See you next year SD groupies!!!
