These sounds are from 1995 and 1997 when we competed in the Walpole Festival in Ealing, London. To many people they will be difficult to make out because of the poor sound quality, so I have written a brief transcript for each along with points of interest to listen out for.
These sound files are only of interest if you have followed Supreme Deluxe's progress through the years, or if you have explored the SD homepage and liked what you saw. The files may take a while to download since they vary in size from 90kb to 200kb, but they are worth the wait if you are genuinely interested. All files are in Wav format so please ensure you have a suitable sound player installed on your machine.
Okay then! Without further ado I give you....
THE SOUNDS OF SUPREME DELUXE!!!
Roger Hits The Bar! You can hear the encouragement from the sidelines as our camp yell "Have a go!!!" and then the crash as the ball hits the crossbar. There are then sounds of severe disappointment from our team!
My Bit Of Skill! "Played Sand, line it", Joseph urges. However I keep the ball and proceed to dazzle three men with outrageous twisting and control! Cue the raptuous applause (well, one person claps!) and cries of admiration.
Our First Ever Goal! "Stick with him" Joseph's sister implores to Carl. A good bit of hassling later and the loose ball is shot home by Joseph. "Goal! Goal!" is his simple war cry. listen out for Alan's gem right at the end... "Was that Joseph?" Could it have been anyone else???
My Goal! Joseph is charging towards goal when he hears my cry of "Joe! This Way! This Way!" Joseph's sister adds "Shoot!" and Carl yells "Finish!!" before I cooly nutmeg the keeper and make an embarrassingly high-pitched cry of "Yeeeeeessss!!!" Joseph tells the world to "Come on!" in his own inimitable way. Cue a nervous chuckle from Alan and a bizarre cackle from an unknown source, before the opposing defender offers some helpful advice to his goalkeeper. "Come on blues let's do it ay?... Joe, keep your legs closed yeah?"
Well folks, that's about all there is for now. I'll upload some sounds from 1998 if I deem them funny enough! You may also be interested to know that detailed descriptions of the goals that are featured in these sound files are available in our Match Reports Page.
