CONNECTION NOTES


PLEASE read this page in full before attempting to complete the form.

It will answer most common questions and may prevent you completing parts unnecessarily!

Connection Notes:


Number Portability ("Bring Your Number"):

You can bring over your existing mobile phone number if you are coming over from another UK phone network (Cellnet, Vodafone or One 2 One). Orange try to make this as simple as possible - but we still need to get extra information from you.

  1. You will need to include a copy of your latest mobile phone bill.
  2. You must not have given notice to the network to disconnect and must not disconnect in advance - Orange will arrange this for you.
  3. You cannot migrate your number if you have not yet completed the minimum term with the other mobile network or service provider.
  4. Orange will offer a 14 day money back guarantee from the time of connection. However, you may still disconnect if the number transfer is unsuccessful.
  5. The transfer may take up to 3 weeks to be completed. Orange will issue a temporary number initially so you can use your new phone in parallel with the existing number.

Talkshare:

Talkshare gives the ability to have more than one person sharing the same Talk Plan (tariff). When completing the form, complete it for the account holder as normal, but include the second person in the "User Name" box. In Section 3, mark the chosen Talk Plan as "Talkshare <talk plan>". For example, to have two users sharing Talk 60, write "Talkshare 60". We’ll do the rest. Each person sharing a talk plan pays £14.69 per month including VAT, in addition to the "main user" who pays for the main talk plan at the normal rate.

Free "Phone Me" Personal Number:

We provide a totally free "0700" personal number with every connection, although you are under no obligation to use it. This number can be routed to your mobile number or any other 3 Numbers UK destination with no cost to yourself now or in the future.

Callers are charged at a higher rate (comparable to mobile rate) regardless of where you are actually routing the call, which is how the personal number company makes money from proving a service at no cost. You pay nothing to receive the calls and continue to get the callers Caller ID information if available.

To change the destination of your personal number, you are given a unique number that is PIN code protected. You can then change your personal number to divert calls (free of charge to yourself) to any 4 UK landline or mobile phone numbers.

The other advantage of using a personal number is clear should you wish to change phone or network in the future. Although your mobile number may change, callers will still reach you on your personal number. If you would like to have a special number, we offer a choice at extra cost (from £25 upwards).

Please note that when you make outgoing calls from your chosen destination, people will receive the "correct" Caller ID information and not your personal number. You cannot currently receive SMS text messages via your personal number. In these cases, you may want to give important business contacts, friends and family your "real" number in addition to your personal number.


Returning the Form/s to us:

Faxing back the form with your proofs is by far the quickest way of placing an order.

Please note that we will generally only call you to advise if there are any problems with your order, not just to confirm receipt. If you specifically need us to acknowledge receipt, please state it clearly somewhere on the form when sending it.

(Required for new accounts and when adding a phone to an existing account*)
Adding another mobile phone
to your existing Orange account.
Our quick procedure for
upgrading your Orange phone.
Acceptable proofs of address;
  • Utility bill (Phone, Gas, Electricity or Water).
  • Bank or Credit Card Statement.
    (No more than 3 months old)

Acceptable proofs of identity;

  • Drivers Licence.
  • Passport or Firearms Certificate.
  • Front/Back of Credit Card.
In order to add another phone to an existing account, things are very simple indeed. We will now need proofs or an official order (on company headed paper) in the normal way.

Call Orange free on 180 using your handset and ask for them to put a note on the account stating that "CJM Communications will be adding a phone to the account".

Now just complete the form with your account number, name, address and a user name for the new person in Section 1. If you are adding a phone on Talkshare, state this in Section 3 as "Talkshare <tariff>".

If you are upgrading your phone, you do not need to complete the form in full. Simply include your name, address and complete the other requested information shown in "For Upgrades Only", within Section 1. We don’t need any proofs.

We will then call Orange for authorisation and send you a hard copy contract for signing. Once you return this we can proceed to get the handset to you. Please allow 5 working days, or longer should you require a new SIM card too.
