The Vodafone Pay As You Talk scheme has a choice of handsets and a choice of tariffs.
The Vodafone offering comes in both analogue and digital forms, but we only offer the digital systems. We do not recommend the analogue systems because of the lower quality you are likely to receive, especially in congested areas and in rural locations. At the moment you cannot just purchase a SIM card for use in an existing GSM mobile phone.
Top-up cards are available in £5, £15, £25 and £75 denominations. Each top-up card offers a different level of service and calling credit.
Technically, the Pay As You Talk offerings are similar to a normal contract based mobile phone in that you buy "service" to use your phone for incoming and outgoing calls. However, unlike a contract phone, you do not have to keep service if you wish to stop using your phone at any time in the future.
Part of any top-up card purchased can be used to buy service (either as 30, 120 or 365 days) along with some calls, or just more calls if you already have service.
For example, you can buy a £75 card that offers either a full year (365 days) of service and £7.50 of calls - or £75 of calls if you already have service from another card (say a 30 day service from a £15 card). The £5 card can only be used to all calling credit to your existing service.
| Top-up Card type | Calling Credit & Service | Calling Credit Only |
| £5 Card | Not available | £5.00 of calls. |
| £15 Card | £5.00 of calls & 60 days service. | £15.00 of calls. |
| £25 Card | £5.00 of calls & 120 days service. | £25.00 of calls. |
| £75 Card | £15.00 of calls & 365 days service. | £75.00 of calls. |
The call charges are as shown below.
Any unused credit from your previous top-up will automatically be carried over whenever you add more calling credit or service to your phone.
