Orange Tariffs - C J M Communications

To purchase an Orange phone, you have to decide on a Talk Plan which you can change, with no penalty, on a monthly basis.

There is a standard connection fee of £35 including VAT for Orange, although this is waived on additional phones added on the "Talkshare" deal. To connect to "Line Two", such as "Chat 60", the connection charge is reduced to £11.75.

If you are connecting on a specific talk plan in order to take advantage of a special deal, check for any conditions that may make you lose the offer if you decide to change talk plans within the first few months.

When choosing a talk plan, look at how many minutes you are likely to need per month and the total cost in rental for a year. Consider that certain calls, such as International, Premium and calls to non-Orange mobile phones are charged at all times (at different rates) and will not use the inclusive minutes. If you are to make a lot of calls to these "special" numbers, you may be better on a cheaper Talk Plan. Likewise, off peak calls to landlines are much cheaper than the peak rate - so if most of your calls are made at off-peak times, a lower Talk Plan may be better suited to you.

Minutes not used in one month will be carried forward to the next as part of the Orange "Rollover" service. If you are unsure about your likely usage, consider going on a low Talk Plan such as Talk 30 or Talk 60 for the first month or two and then changing afterwards. There is NO charge on Orange to change talk plans, but you can only do this once a month.

Chat 60 is available as a low cost second line - giving you a separate phone number and Answer Phone service for just under £6 per month including VAT. You can then make up to 60 minutes of off-peak calls each month, with unused minutes rolling over for one more month.

NOTES: All calls charged per second with no minimum charge. There is no charge for calls less than 3 seconds in duration. Calls to other mobile networks are charged at 29.38p peak and 11.75p off peak on all but Talk 30 and Everyday 20. Calls to other mobile networks are charged at 50p peak and 25p off peak on Talk 30 and Everyday 20. When a call drops, you will be credited for up to 1 minute if you re-connect within 5 minutes.
