Apollyon

Apollyon was never designed as a character: His personality evolved during the course of the campaign. Alterations to his equipment were instigated from experience, and key events triggered his special rules, such as the fitting of the massive Power claw taken from a dreadnought.

The claw of Apollyon..15 points

The claw of apollyon was fitted to Apollyon's suit of terminator armour after his arm was severed and he barely escaped with his life from a Thousand son attack during the early stages of the fighting on Uralan. The only available item was a spare weapon fit from the Black Legion Dreadnought and as such it is massively oversized and capable of great damage.

The Claw of Apollyon counts as a standard powerfist. In addition it can make special tear attacks against vehicles. You may make one tear attack for every 2 normal hits. Resolve the hit as normal and if armour is penetrated add 2 to the damage roll. Apollyon. This image copyright to Graeme Taylor. This is my model of Apollyon, who is in fact my army commander. I used the old Chaos Commander body with one of the new Melta/Bolter Combi-weapon arms and the power Claw from the Chaos Dread which I had spare. I used to have a chainfist but the massive claw is much impressive, even if it means he is prone to falling over! To help balance this, I based him on a monster base, with greenery and some type of cork to build him up a little.
