Apollyon surveyed the battlefield. IN the ruins on the left the remnants of a heavy weapon squad were being finished off by the heavy bolter of an attack bike. Just ahead of him a veteran sergeant was roasted by a gout of fire from one of his bodyguard's Heavy Flamers. A voice crackled from the speaker of his commlink, and Apollyon recognised the twisted voice of Skarthax:
"The one you were looking for is in the ruined chapel in alpha-sector-red, commander. He wiped out my squad before using his infernal powers to dissapear from my grasp. The dreadnought has gone bezerk and got sight of him, but it's taking a beating- status signal indicates 76% damage to hull and motor systems. I advise you get here, fast. Skarthax out"
Apollyon felt a feeling of satisfaction spread through him. The Sorceror was here, and likely weakened by his exertions. With a whining of servos and grinding of gears in his hulking terminator suit the black Legion commander broke into a semi-run. He could soon distinguish the massive form of the Dreadnought, sparks flaring from its missing left arm mounting and a black smoke pouring from the back. As the first of his terminators reached the combat the towering warmachine toppled, revealing the form of his hated foe. A blast of energy issued from his skull-encrusted Meltagun, but a shimmering haze surrounded the sorceror and the shot appeared to have no visible effect. Apollyon felt a nagging sensation in the back of his mind and realised its significance- a psychic attack designed to destroy him from within. Drawing on his own powers he swiftly countered the assault. Reaching for the sorceror, his Bodyguards standing aside, Apollyon savoured his moment of victory. Unearthly flames exploded around him yet had no effect on his armoured shell. A single psychic command shatttered the ring of protection the sorceror had drawn around him, whilst a chilling scream prevented his opponent from escaping through his arcane abilities. Seizing the robed figure in his ancient powerclaw Appolyon ripped him in half, casting his bloodied corpse to the ground in exultation. The warp Portals were his.

And so ended the Siege of Uralan. With complete control over the military forces of Uralan he could persue his goal of breaking into the Webway at leisure.
