Dark Angels Turn 1

Inquisitor Cathan advanced from the ruins to a position close to the Undead Convoy's position, and opened fire with his Psycannon, in the hope that the special rounds would be more effective against the unholy creatures he faced. Librarian Gadiel moved out from behind the cover of a watch tower and drew on the powerful warp energies engulfing Uralan to destroy a single Undead with mental power. The Tactical squad under the command of Sergeant Samathius fired upon the foe, but managed only to waste valuable ammo, as like Cathan they failed to cause a single casualty.

Undead Turn 1

The Assault pack broke away from the main convoy line, heading towards the Librarian. The lead squad readied itself and then blazed away with bolters and Plasma Cannon, incapacitating the Inquisitor who quit the battlefield by use of his teleporter. As the Assault pack charged the Librarian he was able to kill a single fighter with his plasma pistol before disappearing under a tide of blows.

Dark Angels Turn 2

The tactical squad tentatively left the security of the ruined chapel from which they had been observing the Convoy's approach and advanced upon the fearsome Undead. Their fusilade of bolter fire slammed home yet failed to injure a single of the walking dead, whose silent advance was as steady as ever.

Undead Turn 2

Confident that the Assault pack would be able to dispose of the remaining Dark Angels with the same ease with which the Librarian had been killed, the unit with the Heavy Weapon continued to move ever onwards. Pitching into the Dark Angels, the Assault pack unleashed a torrent of blows but none of them managed to penetrate the hardened Ceramite plates of the Marine's armour. In return the veteran Sergeant Samathius cut down one of the Undead, splintering bone with his Chainsword. This extra loss was too much for the Assault Pack who turned and fled yet were chased down and destroyed by the relentless Marines.

Dark Angels Turn 3

Their furious pursuit had carried the Dark Angels close to the remaining Undead squad, and so they let rip with bolter fire, killing one, before the most advanced troops moved into assault. The small number of combatants on either side meant that the combat result was, for a while at least, a stalemate.

Undead Turn 3

The Dark One and the rest of the Skeleton Squad joined combat with the Dark Angels. The two squads took a casualty apiece before the terrifying Dark One stepped in and wiped out the squad of Marines with ease, smashing through armour with ease. With the field clear of opposition, the Undead were able to continue their slow journey across the barren wastes that surrounded the areas of ruins they were currently searching.
