At all times of the year,  Edinburgh is famous for its Castle and architecture which is one of the highlights of The Royal Mile.

You can start at The Castle and work your way down The Royal Mile, stopping off at a few of the many shops, art galleries, pubs, restaurants, museums or possibly stop and see the world famous dog, Greyfriars Bobby! Princes Street offers plenty of variety for shopping, from International companies to local traders and there is more to choose from on Rose Street and George Street - from expensive fashion houses to antiques fairs in the elegant Assembly rooms.

There are many things to see and do all year round, but never as much as when Edinburgh hosts the largest International Arts Festival in the world, during August/September. The City becomes alive with music, dance and drama, all of it of stunning quality. The 'official' Festival is joined by film, jazz and book festivals, each one graced by performers of world renown. Then there is the Tattoo, a spectacular pageant which takes place on the Castle Esplanade. On top of it all, the Fringe Festival- a huge explosion of performance, art and comedy.

If you are a keen rugby or American Football fan, then you will be glad to know that the headquarters of the Scottish Rugby Union and home of Scottish rugby and The Scottish Claymores American Football team is nearby. Murrayfield Stadium is 5 minutes walk from The Craigelachie.
